Default Honda Crx swaping a h22a?

i have a 1989 honda crx si. with stock everything and i was thinking about swaping an H22A in it but im not sure if it'll fit. or if it fits but can i use the stock h22 motor mounts and axles.or do i have to use the crx's axles and new mounts? which is best? thanks

it 'fits' but it's not an easy fit.there are a couple companies who have made mounts to put the H motor and tranny in the 4th gen, and there is a company that makes an adapter to hang the H motor on the stock D tranny.the H tranny is going to be a cable shift / hydraulic clutch while your car is a rod shift / cable clutch. the H tranny is going to need special axles (H on the inside/4th gen on the outside).using the D tranny makes things easier, but it's still a tight fit in the frame. the crank pulley gets into the left frame rail, the alternator has nowhere to go, and the D tranny is not as stong as the H.The H also wants to come thru the US hood on the D tranny, while the H tranny might clear the hood, the radius arms get into the mix.either way, it can be done.....but it's not just a drop in and run kind of thing.

Yea it'll be a tought fit with many things to do. But man that'l be fast as hell
