Default 99 Accord 4DR Wiper linkage

The wipers are travelling too far and hitting the cowling. The linkage appears to have a lot of movement and the wipers move about 2-3 inches when pulled by hand. Is there a way to determine if its the motor or the linkage? Is is hard to replace the linkage? Is there anywhere I could find instructions on linkage replacement? Thanks.
