right is probably the best time to buy a car if you are looking on buying with cash or loan from you bank account, why because economy went down so bad that car dealers will take any offer they get but you have to be careful don't go fall for that 0 interest or whatever they say because like i said they want to make money any way possible so if this is first time buying a car is better not to finance or least it, just put a big down payment like $5000 and up or pay it cash or have your bank or credit company pay them because you will get headache with all the paper work and the bills stuffs. so this is a better time to buy a car only if your going to pay for it at the same time not leasing it or finance it. good luck on your new car. enjoy.

if you are willing to take the depreciation hit that comes with the purchase of any new car, right now is as good as time as any (assuming you are not concerned that your own ersonal finances will head south as well).Honda civics will continue to hold their value despite economic conditions for two reasons:1) it's an economy car with good gas mileage....those will always be in demand.2) Honda does not give them away every few months killing the resale market for people who already own them (see: everything dodge builds)right now, you can probably talk a dealer down a about a grand below MSRP, and maybe he'll throw in a protection package, but in many parts of the country, Honda dealers are not hurting...so they won't come off the cars a ton. they sell more LXs than Sis, but unless they have several Sis on the lot, they probably won't budge much on them.personally, i wouldn't do it....but only because I can't stand to lose 20-30% on something the moment I take posession of it. I won't buy ANY new car, regardless of make or economic condition. I'd be looking for a 07 or 08 certified used one.
