Default 94 vtec missing now wont start

I hope you guys can help me. It-s a 94 accord with a JDM convertion with a internal coil setup in the distributor. it seems to miss while driving and its not a consistant thing. sometimes it will miss and sometimes it wont. it will shut off sometimes as well, then start back up. today it wont start at all. i have heard that the distributors are notorious for going bad. Its not a fuel problem. any ideas? maye the coil?

also the tach starts going crazy while driving down the raod...will jump to like 7000 for no reason....then it will just act normal
