Default What should I offer the dealership for a 2009 Honda civic Lx?

My husband and I are newlyweds and clueless about car buying, we really don't want to get ripped off so your advice is appreciated. The dealership said 17,500 was the best they can do, is this a good deal? Thank you for your help!please help!my husband and I want to thankyou for your help highflyer

YESS!!! dat is amzing price for a 2009 civic. wow..i got my 2007 civic out of a showroom brand new 0kms on it for 25k...basic too...wow...try to go to 17000..if not...go with 17.5k...THAT IS AMAZINGand hondas are value for money...you wont have one single problem for atleast 7to 8 yrs...that car will last you around 10-12 yrs

You can;t go wrong with honda. Civics are very reliable car. As for the price I think it's fair for 2009 model. But get firm with those dealer liar. Economy suck so go lower as possible with your offer.

I work for a car dealership... Do you want the BEST BEST BEST price you can get? Shop other Hondas =) Shop 2 or three, now that this dealer said 17,5 is the best they can do... go to 2 more Honda dealers and see if they can beat that. It also depends if you're financing or paying if all in Cash.

Assuming this includes the $670 destination charge, and also assuming it's a manual trans, then that is probably about the best you will find. Edmunds.com shows that Civic LXs with manual trans are currently selling, on average, for sticker, which is $17825 including the dest charge.
