Default can i put 5000k bulbs in my stock headlights?

I have a 98 civic with stock headlights. But i want to get that bright white light without buying the whole hid headlight kid. Can i just put the 5000k bulbs in my stock headlights? will it look better?

IF they fit, you could have a heat problem with the increased wattage.

If I were you just buy HID kit 6000k (ebay) there brighter, less heat, and better. 5000k bulbs will melt the socket of your headlight wiring, in other word they suck!

I had 5100k bulbs for about a year and the visibility was only a little less than stock. They were a bright white like you're looking for so you'll be fine. Also remember that 5000k refers to the color temperature of the bulb. 4300k gives you the most usable light but it is a yellow color. 6000k is more of a light blue but gives you less usable light. The above is for halogens, an HID system will give you more usable light than stock as long as you stay below 6000k.

save up your money and buy a cheap plug and play waterproof HID kit, 6500k-8500k, you will regret the crappy bulbs you are about to buy....they SUCK
