now i have a 94 honda accord ex f22b1 and its weird when ever my RPM's get to about 6000 the check engine light turns on, but after i stop, park, turn off, turn on, its gone....also i think it has something to do with the fact that the first second i start my car i get a high pitched squeek. i believe this must all be connected to my belts, now should i spend the money and replace all my belts, or get belt dressing and hope it works! has anyone had this problem and it turned out to be something BAD!

Start with diagnosis instead of guessing if belts will help. Whenever the check engine light comes on it should set a diagnostic trouble code in the memory of the computer that controls the fuel injection system. the data link connector is located behind the right front kickpanel on the passenger side of the the car.you'll have to have someone retrieve the code by jumping the two-pin connector then getting the blink code from the MIL.chances are the code is indicating a misfire at that RPM but it could be any of about 20 different things. The belts won't fix the lightthe reason I suspect its a misfire is that the misfire is a 'real time' fault. the light will go out when the car is turned off and not come on until the next time the condition is encountered.if you can get the diagnostic trouble code and you don't know how to interpret it then put another post out with the fault code and we'll go from there.hope that helps
