Default is it ok to have a b16 swap into a honda civic eg?

i am planning to increase power. you might as well include possible basic modifications....

yes- ef, ej, eg, ek......etc...modding? do you want street legal or track only? for street legal use, a simple engine swap with add on parts is good enough.for track you can rebuild the whole block with racing parts. rods, pistons, bearings, sleeves, and balancing. port and polish the head, new valves, rockers, springs/housing, cams, etc. pull out all stock water pumps, fuel pumps, get higher rpm electric pumps, new radiator, new fan, fuel cell, big braking system, ignition system, individual throttle bodies, roll cage....if you're gonna do something, don't half asss it or you'll always be under the hood of the car and will never be satisfied. go simple or all out.

basic mods are intake, exhaust and cams(gear and shaft), ECU then your probably ok with that for some time.

why a b16? get a B18C1 GSR engine and turbo it... hondas are so cheap nowadays to go forced induction

Yes it's okay as long as the engine isn't stolen then you should be fine. However you need to get it REF by the state so the swap is legal. If not you'll get a ticket if the cop asks to look under your hood. yes, I have this swap in one of my cars, its plug and play if you have an si.. if not you have to wire vtec.. there are multiple DIY on how to do it on clubcivic....basic mods would beintake manifoldexhaust manifoldexhaustcam gears ( anything stage 2 up)valvessprings and retainersshort ram intake ( cold air can vapor lock or worse and hydro lock)throttle bodyfuel rail w/injectorsupgrade to a P30 obd1and get it TUNED!!!personally my car has a b16at3/t4 .50 trim garret home made turbo kit @ 22psiwith all kinds of other goodies including forged piston/rodstoday on the dyno made 458whp and 365ft/lb torquebut it was with extreme modifications and 12+ hours of dyno timeand with a honda... NEVER supercharge!!!! they are high rpm motors built for the high end power... a spuercharger smooths out your power band not make it more pronounced... you will make more power and notice the difference with a TURBO..in the world of imports turbo>>>>>s/c
