There seems to be a general opinion that 1999 Honda Accords have Automatic transmission problems.... I have seen this from time to time in other forums.... I recently purchased 1999 Honda Accord V6 automatic transsion car.... This car was purchased from the Original Owner with 135000 miles on the clock.. I have been going over the car and have been checking out little things (Nothing Major)... The original owner is female and was purchase new when she was 26 and looks to have been very well maintained. She wasnt much on keeping receipts so not much came with the vehicle regarding history.. I would bet that the majority of work was dealer done.... and cosmetically the car is in beautiful condition... I have the option to keep the vehicle and cross my fingers or sell the car off... I paid a very reasonable price for the vehicle but should I need to put a Transmission into the vehicle this would drive the actual purchase cost above the normal... Now I realize that this was a private party purchase and Im responsible for any additional work that the car may need.. Hell most dealers will reneg on any warantee they give so when you buy a used car your on your own..... Im 63 years old retired and will be using the car for local running around and dont anticapate long distance trips.... Im not a nut case behind the wheel and most of the time drive the posted speed limit ....

Should I be concerned that I will have a problem with the transmission in this vehicle???? I would like to hear from others that drive 99 and have had automatic transmission problems.....

I must say that the fluids in this car were right up to spec's and look to be very clean and changed on a reg basis......
