I'm thinking about buying a Honda Accord. The car already has 127k miles on it so I'm a little concerned about that. My question is what has your experience been with the brand and have you ever had trouble with it, etc.Its a 2002 Honda Accord EX Automatic

I have owned and worked on Honda's (as a dealership technician) the majority of my adult life. They are amazing vehicles. I would however be interested in what year Accord you were looking at. Get the 4 cylinder option if that is possible. The V6 is a pretty good motor in most of the Accords but the automatic transmissions tend to have more trouble than the 4 cylinders. The 4 cylinder with a manual transmission is an amazingly reliable combination. But that's up to you and your needs. All in all, Honda Civics and Accords are typically unusually reliable. Our 2002 Honda Civic EX runs like a new car! No major problems- just the usual upkeep like regular oil changes and new tires. Car has almost 100K miles. Great mileage- 26-32 mpg in the city, 35-42 freeway. (My husband also had a Honda four wheeler and it would not die!)Check out the car by VIN (vehicle identification number) online before buying it, to see if it's been in any major accidents.One other thing, make sure you use the correct oil. Our car uses 5W20 instead of 10W30.

We have a 1995 Honda Odyssey, bought it in 1997, now has 215,000 miles on it and is going strong. Of course you have to keep it well maintained with proper service. Honda makes vehicles that last a long time (as long as they are cared for), we also own a 2005 CR-V, and it also is very reliable and fun to drive.
