Hi my Accord has been having issue with the Transmission, Yesterday was having Problems shifting gears where it would take 3 to 4 second in order to shift to another gear, even if i was running it in the streets from 2nd to 3rd gear it would take about 3 to 4 seconds too. Then this morning when the engine was cold i Turned it on just to give it a final shot before i took it to the Mechanic and it seemed to be working fine! any suggestion on what might be wrong with it?! Thanks.

Check your maintenance records.Being 10 yrs old, I'd guess the trans. maintenance has been done about 3 or 4 times. Do you see notes about fluid color or alotta sludge in the pan ?

your sincronisers are messed up...

Check the level of your transmission fluid. If it isn't clean and red, or if it has a burnt smell, you need to change it immediately. Do not flush it!! That will only make your problem worse. Drain it, change the filter, and fill it with good, new fluid. You might also put in a quart of Lucas transmission fluid additive if it has been burnt. I've been nursing a bad transmission along for 80k miles on Lucas.

if you are under 115,000 miles then honda will replace the tranny for free. they extended the warrenty on those. if you are over by a little bit i would still go to honda and when they try to make you pay for it start to bitch and they might goodwill the tranny. you pay for part and honda will pay for part.
