Default Honda Prelude Owners: What Do You Think?

My family has been looking around, on Craigslist, etc., for another car to drive. We came across a listing for a 1990 Honda prelude at a good price, and I'm definitely interested in at least looking into it. I looked up the specs online, however, and saw its gas mileage listed as 22 city, 27 highway. This sounds to me to be very low, coming from a manufacturer such as Honda, considering the 1993 Civic I used to drive got in the mid-thirties most of the time.If you own a Prelude: What has your experience been with it in general? What do you like and dislike about driving it. Is the fuel economy really as poor compared to other Honda models? Please include year and trim, and whether it is manual or automatic transmission. Thanks.

mileage specs are not always accuratethe prelude has a 2.0 4 cylinder, the Civic has a 1.6the prelude is also heavier and tuned for more power so yes it will use more gasits all in the way you drive it. if you baby it you will get good mileage. if you drive with your foot to the floor then even your civic will get low mileage. The Lude is way better looking and more fun to drive

I own a 96 Honda Prelude S, turbo, manual transmission. My car gets about 28 MPG city, around 32 highway, unless i hit boost, in which my air/fuel ration drops to around 11.3.As far as the car your looking at, it could just be that particular car, theres many things you can do to improve gas mileage for little money.Change the air filter, maybe add a cold air intake system.Injector cleaner, fuel additives, etc.
