My car wont start!!!! 93 LX stock motor
Confirmed I had fuel delivery problem.
Took voltage reading at Fuel pump plug and had multiple voltage readings from momentary 12V-0 with ignition switch on.
Checked continuity from Yel-GRN wire @ Fuel Pump Relay to Fuel Pump connector. Checks good.
Checked the Fuel Pump Relay IAW Haynes manual. Checks good. Jumped pin 5&7 @ Fuel Pump Relay connector steady 12 volts at Fuel Pump Connector.
Playing around with Fuel Pump Relay and noticed that when ignition switch turned on can hear three clicks at relay. Voltage is not neccesarily coming on through the YEL-GRN wire at Fuel Pump Relay.
Further investigation found that as long as I hear a click at the relay and then a corresponding noise under the dash the car starts. However I am not hearing this all the time.
I have found that if I put a jumper wire between pin 5 &7 while switch is on then start the car it runs fine.
I am suspecting that in this relay it must get a signal from some sort of priming uniit for the fuel rail and then after it recives this it energizes 5&7.
However my Haynes manual does not talk of such a circuit.......anyone have any suggestions????
Thanks ahead of time.
