Default I have a 2008 Civic Coupe EX-L *without* the navigation thing and XM?

In the owners manual it says all I have to do is register with XM and give them my radio code, but I'm reading other places that say I have to have an antenna, yet it says nothing about that in the owners manual. So, if I just registered for XM with my radio code for my 08 Civic EX-L W/O nav, will it work? Thanks

Jen,
Surprised your dealer didn't do it for you; mine did. All you have to do is get the radio number, i believe its on channel 1 and call or go online to XM; as long as your radio has it built in. The antenna is the flat thing about 4-6 inches long on your car roof.
I've had XM for 5 years and love it. Exposes you to a whole lot of new music you would never hear on FM. Or atleast you'll way before it gets played on FM.

XM is standard on the Navigation model. Sorry to tell you but you will have to buy the receiver and antenna. Your radio is only XM capable.

I have the 08 Accord with XM but no nav (premium sound system). Maybe the Civic is different.
Bummer.
