Default cost of engine swap?

im thinking about switching out the stock d16y8 in my 98 civic to a b16a2. what do i need besides the engine itself? is the transmission and ecu for that engine also necessary? also, how much do you think the whole operation would cost, roughly.sorry i meant how much would the installation cost, not including the price of parts

This is better asked in a civic forums. Type in civic forums on a search engine and ask there.

You would most likely need the ecu and tranny swap with a b16 ,and In the chicagoland area they would charge you about $1,000 if you have the engine tranny and all that stuff and if u want them to get everything for you its about $3,500 at a place called one 6 motorsport at 610 Bennett Rd Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 Good luck

My friend a B16 will run you about $1500+ installationComplete swap with Tranny ECU Wiring Harness and Motor Mounts. Well right now you have a Single Cam d16 motor. Absolutley nothing will match to a B series Motor so if you choose to buy a swap. Make sure it's a "complete Swap"If you don't know anyone who can swap it locally, than any import shop will do it for you.Your obviously looking for power when performing a swap. And the B16 is the beginner motor. Us heavy hitters are messing with GSR swaps and H22 Swaps in Civic Hatchbacks. Good Motor Choice though..
