Terrible mileage on my 2007 CR-V EX-L
I bought a 2007 CR-V EX-L in January of 2007. This is my second summer with the car and the mileage has never been worse. I get 15 MPG with the A/C running. I was getting 17 in the winter. I do mostly city driving (lots of stop & go), and since the car shows a real-time MPG gauge, I make sure not to do jack-rabbit starts and other poor dricing habits.
Oddly, I can actually get mid- to high 20s MPG on a highway, but why such a big difference for city driving? Is this happening to anyone else? I always expected to get less MPG than the sticker showed, but this is terrible!
Some other info just in case: car is 4WD, I dont carry heavy loads (groceries, a wife and baby), have only 6K miles, and have already performed routine maintenance at 1yr (about 4K miles), use 87 octane gas (no other additives).
I'm hoping someone would have some troubleshooting ideas -- or do I just send terrible emails to senior Honda execs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Kris
