Default Buying my first car!?

I'm definately getting a honda for sure. I've heard alot of good about them, gas mileage and reliability wise not to mention easy to find parts for. But which honda is the best for what i'm looking for? I want to get a honda thats a 4-door, easy to add engine upgrades, and looks sporty-like. What color is best to choose? What's my best bet? thanks.Yes i am getting a used, my price range is $4000-$8000. I'm not rich lol.

Hmm... What color? That's important on a budget? I think you'll be able to by something pretty nice for that price range. Just shop carefully.

These are all things that you have to look at before you purchase the car.

Tires, timing belt, brakes, water pump, plugs, wires, Fluids, CV Joints, Exhaust system, A/C system.

If nobody knows when the timing belt was last changed, then you must change it. about $700

CV Joints... guessing about $500.

Catalytic converter $200

Are you getting a new or used honda? Are you limiting it to honda only, or are you considering acura? (Acura is a higher brand of honda, just like lexus is for toyota.) How much is in your budget?Honda is very reliable and fuel efficient. Fuel efficiency is very important to them. The cars are so reliable that they can take alot of abuse. On one of my accords, I didn't change the oil for over a year, and it was a daily driver for 50 miles a day. One of the spark plugs was loose and worked its way out (stupid mechanic didn't tighten it during a tune up)...it shot out, and the car ran fine on 3 cylinders. My only complaint is that they don't have a tough car paint.By mentioning engine upgrades, it sounds like you want to mod it. In that case, you'll probably want the civic. It's the cheapest, and has a really big aftermarket support. The accord is bigger than the civic, but they aren't supported as much. They are also much heavier and slower. By buying a civic, you'll save money which you can divert to engine mods. Throw on a body kit, and you can make it look sporty.Accords are great, but if you want to go fast, you won't be going fast in a family car.In the acura line up, you will probably want the TL type S. It's 6 cylinders though, so it eats up some gas. The TSX is a great car (pre-2009)...it's not fast, but it was built for the curves anyway. As for color, it's your choice. Keep your eyes open to see which colors are popular. I got the most popular color for TSX, and now I see my car everywhere...it's not unique at all. Try to avoid the flashy colors, such as bright red, since those will attract the cops' attention often.

Actually what I can suggest from the things you said is that you should get a Honda Civic 4-Door Sedan with a B16 engine. If you want good gas mileage get a manual transmission. If you want sporty looking the following colors are recommended, black, silver & racing red. Lastly, try to get the newest model with your budget. Good luck and hope I helped a little. Cheers.
