it is a chick car but its perfect first car. to make it cool get a nice exhaust on it put some nice black rims on it and get a great sound system. you'll love it you dont want to alter anything in the engine though because it can change the gas mileage thats pretty much it have fun with it

Getting a Civic is a good idea but for the model year it would really depend on your budget. If you can get a Civic less than 5 years old that would be great. I am driving a 1997 Honda Civic 4-Door Sedan Manual Transmission with a VTEC B16A Engine. It has around 44,000Kms on it and it runs great. I maintain it well. This is already my 2nd Civic. I had a 2-Door Honda Civic EG hatch and it looks sporty but the sedan is more convenient for me. If you want to make it sporty & smart just do this. Change the rims to 16" with 50 series tires like Dunlop or Nitto. Try to avoid rear & front spoilers. If you wish you can put a chin spoiler. If it's OK try not to tint it. For the interiors retain the seats because Civic seat already looks sporty. If in cas you get an SIR or Canadian Si version that looks sporty already. Remember a number of Civic models aleardy have sport stocks option. Good luck and hope I helped a little. Bye-the-way be careful of your Civic it is the top model preferred by car jackers in the US. There is a study.
