The price of manufacturing is increasing due to other rising commodity prices, not to mention specifically crude oil. These increased costs are passed onto you the consumer. Year over year price increases are typically in the 500 dollar range on most Honda products.

Ashok, expect a very small price increase for the 2009's, because of increased price of manufacturing and because of higher labor costs and the like. But don't worry about it too much, it won't be a huge increase. Plus, new cars are more pricey at first because that's usually when they sell to people who just want them, and don't really care about price negotiation. After a couple months you'll be able to negotiate and really get a good deal on one.

I would just buy a used '05 for less than 4 or 5 grand. You'll save a bunch of money, and can install engine components, and better interior. You can spend less money, and have a much better, and much more unique car. Just my opinion. Maybe you like the smell of brand new leather. But you will pay for it. BTW: newer cars are much harder to customize.
