Bought the car used with no manual. Radio wouldn't turn on this morning - got CODE or ERRor messages - what does this mean and is it something I can fix or is this a mechanic problem?

You have to take this to the dealership to reprogram the radio.

Hi ... turn on your ignition ... power off the radio ... press buttons "1" and "6" at the same time and hold them in while you power on the radio. You should get 2 sets of digits.U**** and L**** this will be your serial number. Call a Honda Dealership (parts or service dept.) and give them this serial number and they should give you the pass code. They might require that you show ownership of the vehicle IE. title, registration, insurance ... some may not.If your radio is showing error (I'm assuming that you started pushing buttons) you will have to disconnect your battery for a couple of minutes so that you can put the correct radio code in when the dealership gives it to you.

its an anti theft if the battery was ever unplugged the anti theft goes on and u cant use the radio without a code from the dealer its a honda thing

Code means you need a radio code. ERR means your attempted more than 3 times to turn on your radio. Disconnect and reconnect the battery to where the radio will sy "Code". Turn off the radio. Press preset 1 and 6 at the same time and turn on the radio. Write down the # (serial #) and call the dealer with the #. They will give you the code.
