Cool 1988 Accord code 6

My old rusty 88 Accord is not running so well. Sometimes it hesitates real bad to the point where it stays, smells like gas ( flooded, even though it is fuel injected). I have replaced the fuel pump, tune up, new spark plug leads, air filer, dist cap etc. Still runs as bad as it looks. Too bad because it is good cheap transportation when running well. The check engine light has been coming on, took it to a mechanic and he says that it is "code 6" he does not know what that means. From what I can find on the net this refers to the tranny, but this is a 5 speed. Any ideas out there would be great. Lost in the great white north eh! Xraybob.

Default Re: 1988 Accord code 6

I have a similar problem with my 88 accord. kind of starts hard after being ran even after a minute or so. the code 6 as I understand it is a temp sensor fault. as another similarity I too have this code flashing. It is a temp sensor fault. I have a new one coming in this weekend. Maybe this is the reason why it seems to be over carburating? Have you came up with anything else?
