Default Replacing my old d16 motor with another.

The newer motor has less than 100,000- still want to go through it tho. Any recommendations as to newer parts that will help it run better with slightly more horsepower without compromising longevity or mpg? It's for a 94 honda dx that is completly stock. Not interested in spending a TON of money. Have a few months before I have to replace my current motor(250,000 miles) and just beginning to show signs of death. Thanking you!
