im thinking about getting my cars windows tintedand i was wonderingthe higher the percent the darker it is or whatlike 5% compared to 25% is 5 light or dark25 light or dark thanks

25% is the maximum you can put on side windows etc.

better check your state laws,in many states you can only have original factory tinted windows,you can't tint your own .

the percentages mean how much light has to be able to come through. My parents are mechanics and they are not allowed to pass someone for a safety inspection if there percentage is too low. However is there is a law in your state about it, the people putting the tint on WON'T tell you. In NC I believe 33% of light or more has to come through on the driver and passenger side windows and windshield, otherwise, it's illegal. 5% would be VERY dark. 25% would be way less dark than 5% My parents acutally have to use a machine on the windows to test the amount of light that can come through on the inspection. This is mainly a law so the police can see if you have your seat belt on, or who is driving if they need to.

it depends on the laws of where are you located....in california you can put a level 2 in the side windows and in the back windows you can put the darkess level which is the 5.....

I live in oklahoma and have 5% limo tint all the way around on my 2008 Honda accord sedan.
