Question Wife drove through deep water in 00 Accord

Hi Guys,* sorry to have my first post be a question, but I cound not find anything in archive.* I have 2000 Accord Se with 175 K miles.* Today my wife drove some deep water ( middle to top of tires)during a heavy rain.* The check engine light came on and she said it did not have power when she started from stoplights.** When I got home, I started car and placed in reverse.* The engine reved to 2500 rpm and suddenly tranny popped in to reverse.* It seemed to drive ok then.* When I placed shift in drive the tranny enguaged at around 1000 rpm but felt like it was slipping as I accelerated.* As the rpm increased the car would pick up speed.** The gear indicater on dash shoued 4 but was flashing.* Any ideas on what happended. Any ideas for quick troubleshoot.* I am going to borrow a code reader to see what check engine light code is.Any ideas appreciated. Thanks in advance
