hello friends,
I've got a bone stock 1995 accord LX, 98,000 on the clock. I've got my HHO gas generator ( http://www.water4gas.com installed. Just have to wire it up , and hit the safety switch which I'm installing on the dash. That's my fail safe to make damn sure it's not generating HHO if I forget to remove key and am just listening to tunes Doing some research on this, it does appear that it will set a CEL code Here's the explanation I've come across.: When the HHO gas hits the intake, the oxygen sensor reports a change in the exhaust gas makeup to the computer. The computer will correct the perceived problem by dumping in extra fuel. This state usually turns on your check engine light, sets fault codes and puts the computer in a state called open loop. In open loop the computer stops modifying the fuel ratios and reverts to a “safe” mode. Safe mode dumps extra fuel. This can reduce the mileage benefits dramatically. My maint manual for that year accord says the o2 sensor should report .01 - .02 volts until temp warms up to normal, then it should produce readings from .01 - .09 I'm wondering if I could find an 02 "imitator", something that will just put out a steady voltage to the ECU so it thinks all is well. I have a friend with a modded Bonneville SSEI, and he had to do that to keep the CEL from setting codes. Given that this is OBD1, in new hampshire, it will pass inspection, even with a code lite, but obviously it's gas mileage I'm after Any feedback appreciated, especially if you know of a website with o2 replacement stuff. thanks |
