Depends on what you like. If you want a car with better performance, go with Honda. The Toyota has a softer suspension and usually doesn't look as good as the comparable Honda, IMHO. Still Toyota's are (without a doubt)more comfortable, quieter riding and usually less expensive for parts. When buying a Honda, you have trim levels which also act as option's packages from the factory. Say you want a sunroof on your Civic. You have to buy the EX or Si model with the bigger engines and a lot of features you might not want. With a Toyota, you may pay a little more, but you can get the car with the options you want individually or you can opt for options packages that can save you alot on stuff you want. Consumer Reports said "Honda has always been consistent in their reliability" This was said because Toyota has had some transmission problems with four of their 07-08 models. Well, they seemed to omit the fact that Honda has had problems with transmissions on most of their V6 Honda and Acura models from 1999-2003 and continue to have the problem. Still I'll give it to Toyota. Honda's are driver's cars; Toyota's are people's cars.

both are good cars. i drive a 1998 civic, and my parents had 2 toyota camrys a couple years ago but didnt like the second one so traded it in for a chevy tahoe. both are reliable and will last a long time. i am currently looking into purchasing a 2008 civic. and i believe i will stick with honda.hondas are sportier like the other person said. and its true about the levels of hondas, you can not really customize your car except for a few options like door guards or carpets etc. whereas toyotas do have trim levels but you have a few more options when it comes to add ons besides carpet and door guards.

Toyotas are more refined than Hondas are, and are more reliable. If you specifically are interested in either the Camry or Accord, the Camry is more powerful, comes in a hybrid and it gets better gas mileage than the Accord. The Camry also looks far better than the Accord does and has a much quieter ride.
