When i lock my steering wheel the ignition takes a long time to turn the chamber & start up the car?but when not locked its no problem, 75,000 miles & this is a recent problem as b4 when i would lock it, was not a problem to turn on...

if you're having a problem getting the key to turn in the lock cylinder pull down on the left side of the steering wheel as you turn the key in the cylinder. that will take the weight off the cam that locks the wheelIf you have another key you might want to try that and see if the problem is not with the key rather than the lock cylinder or lock mechanism. I do see keys get bent or worn and that causes the same type of problemif the problem is that the engine turns over but won't fire after you release the steering wheel and turn the key in the cylinder then that is a different animial. Check the key ring and take off the ignition key. try the ignition key by itself. if then car starts normally the problem could be with interference on the chip in the key or some other problem; again, try another key to see if it is a key problem or a cylidner problemhope that helps
