Default Why do Peole steal honda civics?

A kid at my school had his 2007 honda civic EX coupe stolen and I read this was one of the most stolen cars in the country. Why??? I just started to worry because I have the same thing.Thank you irrational man but I mean what do they do with the stolen parts? I read something about taking the engine out and putting it into a acura.

Because they're common, which means they can part them out and make money off of them. I mean, think about it, why would you steal a Ferrari when there isn't exactly a huge market for parts? Not only that, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Accords used to be the no. 1 stolen vehicle in America, and Civics were a little further down the list (no. 7 or so) when I bought my Civic over 10 years ago. Nowadays it looks like SUV's top the list, according to AOL/insurance info. For Civics & Accords, I read back when I bought my car that the parts are good fare for the black market. Don't know if that's the case now or not.

The cars are so common, people steal the cars to use their parts to be sold to people who need them. I'm sure a Honda Civic can be parted out and the parts would be worth 2x as much as you could buy the car for. People get them into accidents and then look for parts, thieves sell these parts. Also i heard that a lot of times, thieves actually "fill" orders for parts by stealing cars. So they are pretty much guaranteed that the parts will be sold, i guess that makes sense to me, if a thief already has buyers for parts, they can steal the car and part it out super quickly without having to hold onto the car for long. Since there are so many Civics, i'm sure there have been many who need parts from accidents or to replace things that stopped working. The engine, transmission and body parts like the fenders and bumper covers are probably what get the most money for thieves. Watch your Civic, i have an 08 Civic and i make sure to keep it as secure as i can. The new Honda Civic's aren't being stolen nearly as much as the old ones are from what i hear, but i guess they still are being stolen. Garage it when you can, use a lock on the gas pedal (steering wheel locks can be cut off, brake locks don't work, a thief can move a car without the brake) and keep a good alarm and maybe lojack on your car. You can't always prevent car theft, if a thief wants your car they'll take it, but you can reduce the chance of it happening to you!!!

because hmong people man, they love these hondas. they see honda and they think it's gold. they see it and they think "got to steal the gold, got to steal the hondas".hmong people steal a lot of cars and hondas, i don't even know why my governor even let these people live here for free in minnesota.they steal it so they can sell the parts because it's high in demand for people who love to tune their cars.my cousin's friend is chinese, he owned a integra type-r, legitimate one. and he left it outside of century college for 20 minutes, he went inside for just 20 minutes to grab his college books, went out and teh entire car is stolen.he filed report to the police and they found the car, everything is gone, tires, suspension, seats, the entire interior, except for teh engine they couldn't get it out on time.he brought them to court and the hmongs didn't get charged at all or anything, he didn't even get some of his money back. the hmongs just walk out for free, they say that they didn't steal the car, they were just removing parts, they claim they didn't know who stole it. so it's basicaly gg, all his seats and suspension and stuff he didn't get back either, they sold all the legitimate type-r stuff.it's so messed up. i'm vietnamese btw, so i' m asian too, i'm just telling you, these hmong people man...

they part it out and then take it to the desert and burn it here in az or take it to a junk yard when its just the shell. they sell whatever they can to friends and such. and yea you can put a honda motor in an acura. since acura is honda. go to japan and theres no acura. tsx rsx integra and all those are just honda tsx honda integra n such. thats why if you want to be safe when you do a motor swap make sure you have receipts so if it does turn out stolen you can show where you bought it so they investigate them not you. and the same for any other major parts

1, They have very good resell value, parts or whole car.2, There is a high demand for parts due to how common they are.3. They are very popular and more desirable for joyriding.4. Certain people (usually young) tend to put thousands of dollars worth of aftermarket parts on them.If you were to steal a car would it be a turdmobile that no-one wants to buy or use its parts or would it be a very easy to sell car that a lot of people love?
