I bought 2 Honda 2008 civics, and both cars while at idle with max a/c the air is not cold but when i start driving it gets very cold, i took one of them to the dealer and they said everything checked out good. The service advisor said that there might be a service bulletin but she was not sure and she will check into it, I feel something is wrong with these air conditioning, it seems like either lack of airflow across the condenser or compressor is not putting out enough pressure, does anyone have the same issue? I am thinking about calling Honda consumer and complain as this is not acceptable. Please advise if you have or had the same problem and how it was fixed. Thanks

This is normal. The AC unit kind of lowers when idleing so the engine does die. If the ac unit did not do this the car will die. This happens on 4 cylinder cars. My wife had an 1995 acura integra and everytime she would stop at a stop light, it sounded like the car wanted to die. My friend has a 2007 civic and it does the samething. I asked the dealer and they said also that this is normal. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, well this has got to be a Honda problem, i had Nissan sentra 4 cyl and never experienced this so i guess i am stuck with this issue, when its 95 degrees outside it makes driving miserable. Oh well
