Default 98 accord transmison problem

We put a new transmissions in my wife's car not to long ago. It ran fine for a while then started to go out the d starts flashing green and you have to change gears manually. i was wondering if it just needs a service or what is going on. you can turn it on might work fine get warmed up going down the road and just start flashing.
