Post 2001 accord 4 cylinder...what are my options?

sorry i dont know if the title got changed to 2001, but my dad is giving me his 2001 accord 4 cylinder and i wanna tune it up but the 4 cylinder is just GUTLESS!!! ive heard about dropping v6s and acura engines into it, but dont know much about it. what are my options and price ranges as far as that goes or what other options do i have to make this thing somewhat fast? or is it just a waste of my time and money?
