Default I'm thinking of getting a Honda Pilot?

With the gas prices I'm not sure if this car is a good idea for me. I do need the extra seats now that the kids are getting into sports and bringing friends along places. I like the looks of it even though it is a bit big and the safety rating seems to be OK. Does anyone have one? Do you like it, hate it? How about the maintance? Any other suggestions for a vechicle that would give my the seats and the safety? ThanksThanks Ernesto. I do need something that is AWD or FWD since I am a nurse I need to be able to get to work in the bad weather.

I know the 07 Pilot (Auto) is said to get 17/22 mpg, but most people report getting around 19 or so, just shy of 20. As far as the Pilot goes though, it's a great SUV. it's very nice on the inside, not small by any means for passengers. Trunk space is good, but could be a little bigger. It does have some road noise while driving though, thats actually a common complaint. However its a really reliable car, they do last a long time and they don't cost an arm and a leg to service. It handles very well too and unlike a lot of other SUV's you can actually see pretty well all around. It's a great SUV all around though, fuel isn't TOO bad for an SUV its size. Maintenance is definitely next to nothing though, you probably won't be visiting your dealer for much more than scheduled servicing. Great thing about the Pilot right now though, is that the 2009's are coming in, so if you rush to your dealer they might still have 2008's left that they are trying to clear out. (I definitely like the 2008 body style over the new 2009 one - but that's up to you) There's also the Odyssey though. I took this one over the Pilot after a while because i needed more room than the Pilot. The Odyssey definitely has more rear cargo room than the pilot does and its got more room in the cabin as well as seating for 8. I would never buy a minivan, but this one actually doesn't look like a mommy van. So whether I or my wife drive it around, doesn't bother me! It gets good gas mileage too for its size, about 22mpg. We got the EX-L with the leather and the VCM is great, it shuts off 2-3 of the cylinders when your cruising to save gas. So if your not to partial to just having an SUV, take a look at the Odyssey its not bad at all.

Ideally, my opinion is that you buy something that is easier to drive and has better gas mileage, the Camry is ideal for you in that case its a good car with above average reliability and its easier to drive compared to the much bigger Honda Pilot, but if you really like the pilot then go for it.

I would not hesitate onthe polit for a moment in your postition. I have 3 kids myself and yea teh sport thing is starting to catch up with us ECPICALLY teh ski hill trips....

however if you are intersted in looking for a alternite... go to Mitsubishi and checkout the OUTLANDER... excellent Fuel ECO and Safety rating. not bad in size at all either!
