Default 2008 Honda Accord tire pressure monitoring system?

My car is only three months old and the TPMS tire light comes on quite often. Is this normal?

it is not unusual for the light to come on when the car is cold. if it is cold the tire pressure is lower and the pressure sensors are sensitive. however, the light should go out shortly after you start driving as the friction of the road causes the air in the tires to heat up and expand and when that happens the tire pressrue increases. because the air expands as the tires heat up the manufacturers always tell you to check and set your tire pressure when the car is cold.use a tire pressure gauge to check your pressures. if they are okay then don't worry about unless the light doesn't go out.if the light doesn't go out after you start driving then there is a problem with either the tire or the sensor.

Probably not. Check your tire pressure to make sure it is okay . Monitor it for a few days. If there is no change in air pressure and the light continues to come on;take it back to the dealer. However be sure you have the recommended pressure in the tires.

It did that to me too. It was on for about two straight days. I was going to take it to the dealer. But it switched off. Go to dealer and have it checked out.

It is very common for the light to give a false reading. This is caused by the fluctuation in outside air temperature. Causing the air in your tires to expand and contract. We use nitrogen to combat this issue at our dealership.

Make sure that there are no nails or screws in your tire. My tire pressure light kept coming on and I had the tires filled back up twice until I realized there was a nail in the inner side of the back driver side tire today. I am going to get it fixed in the AM.

I picked up a screw in my driver's rear tire last week which lit up the little icon that looks like a cross section of the tire. The 235/45/18 tires were in short supply at the dealership so they took a tire and rim off another vehicle and installed it on mine. The TPM system light then came on yesterday which the technician reset at the dealership. It came back on today after driving approximately 25 miles. I'm guessing it's perhaps a defective sensor in that rim that got replaced.
