Research! Use wikipedia, check under the hood for some 4-8 character combination of numbers and letters.

Easiest way is to pop the hood and look for your emissions label. Its normally mounted on the underside of the hood. Look for something that says "2.0L DOHC" or "2000cc DOHC"

Where your exhaust maniful is... to the left, there is a small flat part that has some letters and numbers. Iex: D16Y7, get that code whatever you have and search that "D16Y7 specs"you'll get everthing you need.

pop the hood and there should be a reading on the motor casing. it should be a 4 cylinder and it could be anywhere from a 1.8L to about a 2.4 or 2.6L maybe higher but probably not. if its not on the casing look it up in your manual. all they really need to know is the make, honda, how many cylinders and what size in L.

Owners manual......not sure why they ask...they have a damn computer with all that info at their registers. You are obviously going to a lame ass parts place. Change parts stores now.

It's a 1.6 without VTEC unless it's an EX or HX. If it's an HX, it's a 1.6 VTEC-E; if it's an EX, it's a 1.6 VTEC

on the engine block above the exhaust manifold to the left is a 5 letter/number combination... i dont think they made and Si in 97, so there all going to start with D16Y look for that... now depending on your submodel it will have one of 3 numbers... 5 for HX, 7 for DX, LX, or CX, ...or 8 for an EXbut its going to be a 1.6L SOHC... that should be enough for them, no matter what submodel it is, its going to have the same plugs... so look on the front of your block for D16Y5, D16Y7, or D16Y8
