Either you haven't driven it very far or the sending unit is bad. You'll find out if its bad if you keep driving it without refilling and it stops running.

your fuel bobber in your fuel housing is probably sticking. have you had any work done on your fuel housing. if so then that might be your problem or your wire connection might be loose.
