Default how to adjust brake switch 95 honda accord?

My rear brake lights stay on even when the car is of and the brakes are not being applied.ok my dad has been messing with it and he says that it's not the switch that is broken but it looks like a missing plastic piece/ stopper on the brake pedal that the plunger hits to engage. So my question is there suppose to be a plastic piece there b/c now there is a hole there and the plunger has nothing to engage and the is just a hole there.

the brake switch is at the top of the brake pedal under the dash. just follow the brake pedal up to the top and you'll see a tube shaped switch. with the brake pedal in the unapplied position you push the switch through the bracket until the switch plunger stops you from pushing the switch in any further (the plunger will be pushed into the switch as you push the switch through the bracket)the switch has threads on it; the bracket grabs the threads as you push the switch through; you don' t have to screw the switch in.if the lights are on when the plunger of the switch is pushed in then you'll probably have to replace the switch. You may have to unscrew the switch after removing the connector to get it out but the new switch will just push in.hope that answers your question

Glad to see you found out what was wrong.Simply get a screw and bolt to size and bolt it through the whole or go to the dealer and ask for that piece but it will just break again because it is plastic but better the plastic piece than the switch although both pieces are probably inexpensive to replace. I did not have time to replace my dads with original part so I had to improvise with what I had around the house. Good luck.
