Hello All,
I have an issue with my sons Acura. My roommate brought it home limping, low on oil and running on one cyl. I have spark in all 4 cyl. I checked the compression and it was 180 in cyl 4 and less the 30 in 1, 2 and 3. I pulled the timing cover and it looked like it jumped time. The 2 arrows were not pointing up at the same time at TDC. I installed a new timing belt and the compression came up to 180+ in all 4 cyls. The problem: First when I take the motor to TDC and the white pulley timing mark on the mark, I have both cam pulleys with the arrows up and locked in with a dowel rod. It appears the timing belt is a half a cog off? I have tried to install it letting the front camshaft shift forward to the timing belt cog. I have tried both forward and back. The car will fire but not run? I have the distributor loose to adjust the timing but nothing. Any ideas? I am beginning to think i have the wrong belt.... |
