Hi i have a 1994 honda accord lx coupe and it has 140,000 miles on it. I have owned it for 3 years and dont know if the previous owners ever had it done. the problem is it seems my car is loosing power on it and honda dealership said it needs to be done. my timing belt and waterpump was checked and they where fine. everything else in the vehicle is fine. i heard its not good to have a transmission flush done on older cars. Just wanted to see if that is true. thank you for your time : )

Yes it is necessary, all fluids in an automobile will absorb moisture causing the fluid to break down and loose more and more of it's lubricity over time. Also the fluid will become contaminated with dirt and particlesfrom the worn transmission.
