they would rather make some more money from your finace charges. Believe me cash doesn't talk. Not when thousands in financing is at stake.

You can always bargain. Rule of thumb: you should be able to purchase the vehicle by splitting evenly the book value and the dealers cost. Another rule of thumb: you can always get a better deal by bying with cash. Don't trade in your present car, it's like giving it away. Sell it on your own.

Don't bargain. Shop. You'll get the best price by making dealers compete for your business. Do this by getting on the internet to go to the Honda homepage and use their "dealer locator" to find all the Honda dealers in your area. Now go to their web pages and find the name and phone number of their internet sales manager. Call or email this person. They'll have a menu choice where you can do this easily. Tell them you are shopping for price. Then tell them what you want and ask for a quote.Be sure you reassure them that you will not "shop" their price (ask another dealer to beat it). Otherwise they'll just tell you to call them after you've talked to everyone else.If there is only one dealer within hundreds of miles, you may do better by using Autobytel.com, Vehix.com, or Cars.com. They can do the shopping for you, but my experience is their price will not beat yours if you shop.Good luck and Good Motoring!

Paying cash makes no difference when purchasing a vehicle. You as the consumer will loose out making money. This would be a whole subject alone. It will be difficult to bargain on a vehicle that people are lining up to get. Our store has 10 coming and 8 are sold. And they are stock that won't be here till the end of June. When you break everything down a regular Civic may be a better choice. Saving on the cost of the car, close enough on fuel economy and you'll be able to get one. You would be able to get an EX-L with navigation for less then the Hybrid if available. This weekend we sold out of all our automatic four door Civics. We sold about 100 in 4 weeks.
