Unhappy S2000 Roof Not Operating

I've just bought an '05 S2000 with GT pack, removed the hard-top and tried to raise the soft-top but nothing's happening. I followed the manual, level ground, handbrake on, key in ignition position II, pushed and held the roof switch forward but no joy. Since then tried other combo's of engine running/not running, handbrake on/off, different ignition positions. Checked left and right hood motor fuses, both look ok to me. Is there something that disables the roof when the hard-top is on that prevents operation. Am I missing something? Frustrated from Wiltshire!!
