Default Making a noise going backwards

Hi Everyone,

I have an S reg Honda Civic Aerodeck, and it's recently started to make a kind of whining noise when I reverse. This is not only when I go into reverse gear, but even if I slide backwards with no brakes on. Seems to be coming from the drivers side rear. If I move very slowly backwards, sometimes it won't start till I apply the brakes.

It doesn't seem to be affecting the driving at all, other than being embarrasing when reversing near people. It's got me stumped. Don't want to go to a garage if it's something really obvious. Any ideas?

I had the same kind of thing on my 95 Accord. The brake caliper was frozen. Replacing the caliper fixed the problem.
