OBD1 = on board diagnostics 1 pre-96 i thinkOBD2= on board diagnostics 2 96 to nowif you are going from one to another you will have to change wiring harnesses, ecu's. i am not big in to Honda's but if you check out this link you will probably find an enthusiast that can answer all of you questions.http://www.vtec.net/hope this helpschris

Your question seems off a little because Vortec engines are fuel injected. You will need to use all of the electrical from the engine you are installing including the computor and transmission plus a lot of other things.

You wont be able to run obd2 on your set up. You will be able to run you obd1 harness if its from your eg engine harness and you say it has vtec working. OK if you have your motor out already swap your harness from you d15 to your b18 everything should clip in except for your crank angle sensor (not needed for obd1 its next to your crank pully), the knock sensor and iab (intake air bypass,if you have a gsr manifold) sensor will not have a connector either. You will have to run a wire from you knock sensor to your ecu pin out (its behind the block by the oil filter under the intake manifold). if don't have a stepper type intake manifold (gsr) don't worry about the iab sensor .The p28 should plug into your harness it should be obd1 if its chipped for the b18 you should be ok hopfully the iab was deleted from your ecu so you wont have a cheak engine light on. I would think about checking to make sure if the ecu is chipped it might hurt your engine if its a stock p28 and make your b18 run lean. Hope this helped, good luck.U should be fine without wiring the knock and iab sensors, the p28 doesnt look for those sensors so it wont throw faults/check engine light on. But I would wire them up just in case you want to use a p72 obd1 ecu later (gsr)
