I did a H22 prelude motor in my 97 Civic and it hauls ass. Manual transmission of course no auto. But it depends. Do you want to do more work afterwards? If you want to go all motor, go for a B18 Integra GS-R motor. Or if you want to go turbo, go for H22 Prelude motor.

Just go with a B engine. It will do great for turbo and its pretty fast just as a stock motor. The H22a is even faster stock you'll be able to beat mustangs gt's. If u want to turbo the H22 that engine the highest u can go id 8 psi stock block. If u want to go higher boost u will need to resleeve the black. The H22a has a weaker block then a B engine. like the guy above me said the GS-R is a great engine if u have the money go with a Type-R.

whats your budget and goals?the k20a is the best stock motor to swap in.. its also the best if you want to mod. its also the most expensive.the gsr.. a jdm b18c would be the next best in my opinion.the h22 looks like a good swap by its power numbers but there really not that great of a motor. weak internals.. different sleeves. horrible trannies, horrible shift cable set up.an H2B would be good if you want to leave the motor stock. an h22a with a type R trans..again, we need your budget and goals..

I recommend the B16A2.1992-2000 Honda Civic EDM VTi (EG & EK) Displacement: 1595 cc Compression: 10.4:1 Power: 160 hp @ 7,600 rpm & 118 ft·lbf (151 N·m) @ 2500 rpm Transmission: Y21 1999-2000 Honda Civic Si (EM1) Displacement: 1595 cc Compression: 10.4:1 Power: 160 hp (118 kW) @ 7600 rpm & 111 ft·lbf (151 N·m) @ 7000 rpm Transmission: Y21 S4C Bore: 92mm Stroke: 77.4mm 1996-1997 Honda Del Sol VTEC (EG) Displacement: 1595 cc Compression: 10.4:1 Power: 160 hp (118kW) @ 7600 rpm & 111 ft·lbf (151 N·m) @ 7000 rpm Transmission: Y21also this was the engine used in the SiR version of the 1992-1995 Civics, so little to no modification would be needed to accommodate it in the engine bay. However you would need to change your suspension and your rear brakes to discs (unless they are already).

a B20, the k-series motor need mounts, new wiring, all that jazz.but a B20 out of a CRV will work just fine, get one from an automatic(as you can't horse beat an auto)so it will have great power even at 100,000+ milesyou need to change the driver side mount, the tranny, Flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, and intake manifold and engine harness with those of any Non-Vtec B-series motor. And ive done this swap, and it really has the GET UP AND GO
