hey guys i guess my girlfriend was driving to a gas station with her gas light on, got gas, turned car back on and drove about 200 ft before the car died, she said it started sputtering and her power steering went out and then her gas pedal was hard to push down and she turned her car off, tried to start it and wouldnt start. i got there and tried to start it but the fuel pump wasnt priming. so i figured that was the problem. got a new fuel pump and installed that it primes and gets gas to the fuel rail but does not fire. plugs are dry. all fuses are good, gas pedal is fine. idk what the problem is i am thinking its a computer related problem i have a obd1 and obd2 computer reader so i will check codes i guess not too sure what im looking for i dont know too much about honda's i just finished building up my jetta and have never worked on a honda before. Can anyone help me out i need help BAD!!!! my car is not finished yet and this is both our only way of transportation. it is a 1998 honda civic lx but there was an engine swap we think we got it from a russian family that got in an accident i dont know too much about this car but my girlfriend thinks its a 93 she says it is on a white sticker that says may 1993 that is somewhere on the engine i guess. please help me out this is VERY frusterating

Only thing i can think to do is unplug the relays to your injectors and hook up a noid light, if it blinks then its not a computer problem. If all else fails check the engine for compression. If you don't have a noid light or a compression tester you should just take it to a mechanic. Hope this was helpful.

turn the key to on position disconnect you battery with key in on position fully charge the battery or jump start if you jump start? ground negative cable to frame of the honda being jumped turn key to off position try starting spray some starting fluid into the intake at the same time(with some help from a friend) it should build enough pressure the starting fluid should prime it and disconnecting the battery resets the computer good luck it also helps to buy a book on the cars year and make and get to know the car most of the time its the smallest thing good luck Cisco
