99 Honda Accord EX V6 P0505 recent high flood waters
Hello,
Can anyone answer something that I bet would be simple considering the circumstances. I have a check engine light (CEL) on my Honda Accord EX V6. I used a friend's car tester ( OBDII and EOBD Launch Cread@r IV ) to read my trouble code. It told me P0505.
The check engine light came on the day after I drove through some pretty high water. I was not able to avoid it, I live in south central Louisiana. Anyway, I noticed that after I drove through the water my idle was going up and down between 2000 and 3000+ RPM when in park. So, I let my car sit in a safe place over night.
When I started my car in the morning, the idle problem seemed to be gone, but the check engine light came on. Can anyone tell me some sure fire things to do in order to ensure proper precautions and get rid of the engine light as well as my worries?
I really don't have the cash to bring it to a mechanic right away, and I was wondering if this would maybe be an easy one for someone in the forums..
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help
