Red face My 98 civic shuts off when i hit the clutch and stop...

Hi,,
I got my connecting rod bearings changed.. and now my car shuts off when i hit the clutch.. Let's say i am going to stop at a light .. so i hit the clutch so i can take it out of gear and then my car shuts off if i don't release the pedal fast enough... If i am stopped and i push the pedal down to get into gear the car shuts off.. DO I NEED TO CHANGE THE CLUTCH OR IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE WRONG THAT I AM NOT NOTICING...

Sounds like they got the wiring mixed up when they put your motor back together. Normally you have to push the clutch pedal to crank the starter, right? There's a switch on the clutch and it's wired up wrong. I don't think it's mechanical.

the only thing that was taken off was the oil pan to change the rod bearings. nothing was done to the clutch..or the wires that go to it...I am wondering if it has to do with the clutch itself... because the car doesn't have that much power throwing out.. i know how a vtec runs and this one is not up to it's reputation..
