Default 96 civic dx can d16y8 converter fit my d16y7?

I want to get an exhaust system w/ header but debated on test pipe as well.I know the header gasket for a d16y7 is the same as a d16y8 .(I matched part no.#)So instead of buying a test pipe; will a cat. converter of d16y8 work or are the headers different in size?

any header for a D-series motor will fit all D-seriesD15,D16,D18and the cat is also the sameBUT......if you replace the cat with a high flow one or just straight pipe you get an extra 10-12 HP
