Was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out on a problem I'm having. The brake light on the dashboard is staying on, while I am driving. When I brake the light goes off, but as soon as I start driving it again, the light goes on. Any ideas what might be causing this?? Any help appreciated!!

Maybe just a burned out brake light bulb. Have someone look at the lights while you press the pedal.

The problem is with the brake light indicator on the dashboard. The brake light itself is working.

On my '88 Accord if a light on the back is burned out the brake light comes on on the dash. Just sayin'.

I already checked the light on the back but it was fine. Thx for the reply anyway

I know this is an old thread, but my daughters dash brake light on a 99 Civic, was coming on sporadically, it was indeed above the "Min" lines on the brake reservoir, so I added some Dot 3 brake fluid and topped it off bringing it up to the "Max" line and now it stays off. I don't have any loss of fluid at any of the wheels or lines, so it was just a case of low fluid. My .02!
