Japanese Domestic Market. JDM engines are usually "hotter" than their American counterparts. Most will not pass emissions in the state of California, so they are detuned upon import.

JDM Honda or Toyota automotive parts are components imported from Japan.Often, JDM specialty parts and accessories for Japanes brand models may be for racing or special tuner applications. JapaneseDomesticMarketwhich essentially says that the car was made for this market. In the case of a Honda, particularly a Civic, particularly the 5G (1992-1995) ones, a way to tell was if you had the Ferio badge on it.The other markets are theUnitedStatesDomesticMarket&EuropeanDomesticMark etIf you look at the current generation Civics the differences between the USDM & JDM Civics are pretty few, but compare that to the EDM Civic and you would see that there is a big difference among them.USDM Civic:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:0...c_Coupe.jpgEDM Civic:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:2..._5-door.jpgJDM Civic:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:H...2C_Serdang.jpg
