Default Does anyone know if a dealership would fix a cam seal if they are going to fix the timing belt?

I am taking my car in tomorrow....its a honda. One dealership said they would.....but that was like 100 miles north

If you want them to they will. You have to remove the cam gear to get to the seal, but you don't have to remove it to do the timing belt job.

They will not replace the seals unless they recomend it or you request it. Play it safe and get the whole lot done (i.e cam,crank and oil pump plus balance shaft depending on the model). It might pay to have the water pump replaced at the same time as all of the same parts have to come off to get at that, and they usually leak shortly after a timing belt is done.
